In Dust: An Elysian Tail, the main character is a man who is in a constant state of sleep. When he is awake, he finds himself in the middle of a forest meadow, where he finds a wooden chest. Inside the chest, he finds a mysterious letter. The letter tells him that he is the owner of a sword called Blade of Ahrah and a guardian named Fidget. It also tells him that he has the power to bring the people from the world of Falana to the world of real life. The sword and the guardian are responsible for protecting the owners of the sword from all kinds of dangers. The letter that Dust receives is written by the other inhabitants of Falana. They are a race of people who live in the world of Falana and exist in a constant state of sleep.
